I am the creator and operator of KirklandWeather.com. First introduced in December 2004, KirklandWeather.com runs as a hobby and non-profit Web site.

Local weather data is collected by an Oregon Scientific WMR 968 wireless weather station. Data from sensors is transmitted every five seconds and then immediately processed by Weather Display, a specialized weather station software application.

Weather Display runs on-site on a computer running Microsoft Windows Server 2008. A stream of real-time data and templates is then transferred over a broadband Verizon FiOS data connection to a second computer running Windows Server 2003 at a Metro Hi Speed data center approximately six miles away in Bellevue.
